Alternatively – the official OMAS GEGEN RECHTS Logos:

About the logo with the eagle – what it represents:
The eagle is the heraldic animal in both Germany and the USA. The circle is reminiscent of the logo of OMAS GEGEN RECHTS (Grannies against the far-right). Of course, our name and the QR code that leads to our website are also included. In the background is a map of the world.
Why the eagle? Jan, who initiated the project, had already created several comic drawings featuring the “heraldic birds” from the USA and Germany before “grans-united” was launched. These are therefore already a familiar symbol within the network.
The second version was created because a little more “explanation” is necessary in Germany. This makes the connection between OMAS GEGEN RECHTS and the project clearer. “Grans-United” is a project promoting democratic cooperation between Germany and the USA. This is symbolized by the similar heraldic animals in both countries, which proudly represent their and our democratic orientation – and NOT the mono-ethnic, nationalistic meaning that right-wing extremists there like to interpret into it.
Our countries and our symbols belong to all of us. They are not „old-fashioned nationalistic“, but symbolic of the values that unite us. We must not allow fascist, backward-looking forces to claim the authority to interpret them.
