Thank you very much for the overwhelming, heartwarming, supportive feedback!
We have received countless emails and social media messages in response to our open letter. We cannot respond to all of them directly, as we are only a small working group, but we will soon publish some anonymized excerpts from the emails etc., because we would like to share the feedback with you and show everyone that no one is alone!
Here are some answers to the most important questions:
1. How can I participate?
Grannies against the far-right are organized on a decentralized basis. For this reason, there is no “directory” with worldwide contact details for all groups that are working locally to promote democracy and combat right-wing extremism.

Contact USA / worldwide
We know that the „Raging Grannies“ and the „Bad Ass Grandmas“ are active in the USA, among others, but there may be many other groups you can get involved with. Please look around in your own country or state; we cannot do that for you.
Of course, you can also start a group in your country or state – we will publish more information about this here shortly.
2. Network (Partners)
When we talk about “network,” we mean the platforms and influencers who join forces to spread the message. In other words, a network to create reach. A network that spreads our message far and wide.
However, there is no email group or similar that we could add you to. That would also become too big for our small team to administer. But that’s not important, because you can find all the information here on the website, and we are constantly expanding it.
3. What is our focus?
Our most important concern is that all democratic forces globally support each other.
Our goal is empowerment. We want to …
- … show why it is important to stand up against right-wing, authoritarian, backward-looking politics worldwide.
- … encourage everyone to stand up for what is good, for humanity and solidarity.
The voices of those who have already suffered and died under fascism must not go unheard.
The history of Nazism and fascism must never be repeated in any form!
